What personal information we hold, why we hold it and the rights you have over it. The website itself collects very little: no cookies, no analytics, no advertising tools.

Who we are
This notice explains how Pear Media Ltd uses personal information about the people who contact us, the people we work with and the people who visit this website, www.pearmedia.co.uk.
Pear Media Ltd is the controller of that information. That means we decide how and why it is used, and we are responsible for looking after it under the UK General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act 2018. We are registered in England and Wales under company number 05234667, and our registered office is Unit 3, Vale Business Park, Llandow, CF71 7PF.
Pear Media is the family behind iVisit Media, iVB, iDO, Pear OOH, Brightsky Media and Pear Publishing, and each company has its own website. This notice covers Pear Media Ltd and this website. If you use the website of another company in the family, or deal with that company directly, please read the privacy information it provides.
What we collect
We collect personal information in four ways.
When you contact us
If you email or call us, we receive your name and contact details, the organisation you work for if you mention it, and anything else you choose to tell us. If you call, we may note what was discussed so that we can follow it up.
Through the enquiry form
The enquiry form on our contact page sends and stores nothing itself. When you submit it, it opens the email app on your own device with a message addressed to hello@pearmedia.co.uk. Nothing reaches us unless you choose to send that email, and if you do, we receive it like any other email.
When we work together
If you are a client, supplier or partner, or you work for one, we hold business contact details such as your name, role, work email address and telephone number, together with the correspondence, contracts, invoices and payment records that come with working together. These details may come from you or from the organisation you work for, for example when a colleague introduces you.
When you visit this website
This website is hosted by Vercel Inc., a company based in the United States. To deliver pages to you and keep the site secure, Vercel processes server request logs on our behalf. Each entry records the IP address of the device making the request, the user agent your browser sends, which names the browser and operating system, the time of the request and the page requested.
That is all the website collects. It sets no cookies, uses no local storage, runs no analytics, carries no advertising pixels and embeds no content from other services. Our typefaces are served from this website too, so reading it sends nothing to a font provider. Our cookie policy explains more.
We do not ask for sensitive information, such as details of your health, ethnic origin or religious beliefs, and we ask that you do not send it to us.
You do not have to give us any personal information. If you choose not to, we may not be able to reply to your enquiry, and where we need details to agree or carry out a contract, we may not be able to work with you.
How we use it and why
The law allows us to use personal information only where we have a lawful basis for doing so. The table below sets out what we use your information for and the basis we rely on for each purpose.

Where we rely on legitimate interests, you have the right to object, as explained under Your rights.
We rely on consent only where we ask for it, and we will explain at the time what it covers. You can withdraw consent at any time, although that will not affect anything we did before you withdrew it.
Who we share it with
We share personal information only where we need to, and only with:
- Service providers who act on our instructions, such as our hosting provider, Vercel Inc., and the providers of our email and IT services.
- Professional advisers, such as accountants and lawyers, where they need it to advise us.
- Another company in the Pear Media family, only where your enquiry is meant for that company, so that the right people can reply to you.
- Authorities, such as the police, HM Revenue and Customs, courts and regulators, where the law requires us to.
International transfers
Some of our service providers are based outside the UK. Our hosting provider, Vercel Inc., is based in the United States, so website server logs may be processed there.
When personal information is transferred outside the UK, we rely on one of the following safeguards recognised by UK law:
- UK adequacy regulations, which confirm that the destination country protects personal information to the standard UK law requires;
- the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, where the recipient in the United States is certified under it; or
- the International Data Transfer Addendum issued by the Information Commissioner’s Office, used with the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep it
We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes described in this notice.

We may keep information for longer where the law requires it, or where we need it to establish, bring or defend a legal claim. When we no longer need information, we delete it or make it anonymous.
Keeping it secure
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal information from loss, misuse and unauthorised access, and we expect the service providers we use to do the same. Pages on this website are served over an encrypted HTTPS connection.
If a personal data breach occurs, we will report it to the UK data protection regulator, and tell you, where the law requires us to.
Your rights
Data protection law gives you the following rights over your personal information.
- Access. You can ask whether we hold information about you, and for a copy of it.
- Rectification. You can have inaccurate information corrected and incomplete information completed.
- Erasure. You can ask us to delete your information.
- Restriction. You can ask us to limit how we use it, for example while we look into a concern you have raised.
- Portability. Where we use information you gave us on the basis of consent or contract, and by automated means, you can have it in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format, or ask us to send it to another organisation.
- Objection. You can object to our use of your information where we rely on legitimate interests, and you can always object to direct marketing.
- Withdrawing consent. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time.
Some of these rights apply only in certain circumstances, and we will tell you if one does not apply to your request. We do not make decisions about you based solely on automated processing, including profiling.

We will respond within one month. For complex or numerous requests the law allows us to extend that by up to two further months, and we will tell you if we need to. There is usually no fee.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first, so that we can try to put things right.
You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK regulator for data protection. On 30 September 2026 the ICO’s role passes to the new Information Commission. The contact details below are those the ICO published when we last updated this notice.

Children
This website is about our business and is not aimed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

We may update this notice from time to time, for example if the law changes or we change the way we use personal information. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated, and if a change is significant, we will say so here.
